About Goodvine House: A Christian co-living community for students and young adults in Vancouver, with a special heart for international students. We provide a safe, relational, Christ-centered home environment grounded in Biblical truth, discipleship, hospitality, and mission.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Christian husband-and-wife couple who feel called by God to minister to students and young adults (especially internationals) through:
Christian hospitality
Relational evangelism
Discipleship
Prayer & Biblical mentorship
Community leadership
Modeling Christ-like lifestyle and marriage
Supporting the spiritual and emotional needs of residents
Primary Responsibilities
Christian Ministry & Discipleship
Build Christ-centered relationships with students & young adults
Provide Biblical mentoring, prayer, and relational guidance
Host optional Christian community gatherings (Bible study, meals, fellowship)
Live out and model Christian character, holiness, and hospitality
Engage internationals with cross-cultural Gospel-centered ministry
Support residents spiritually, emotionally, and practically
Community Leadership
Maintain a respectful, peaceful, Christian home environment
Uphold Goodvine's Christian values and lifestyle expectations
Encourage spiritual growth, character formation, and relational maturity
House Operations (Light Duties)
Oversee daily culture and order of the home
Do light cleaning of shared spaces when required (weekly cleaners provided)
Support house organization and cleanliness
Identify minor maintenance needs or coordinate with leadership
Ensure safety, boundaries, and house expectations are followed
Qualifications
Required: Christian Belief & Calling (Bona Fide Occupational Requirement)
Because this is a Christian ministry position, the following are required:
A Christian husband-and-wife couple
Active relationship with Jesus Christ
Agreement with Biblical values, Christian lifestyle, and ministry purpose
Ability to mentor from Scripture
A clear calling to serve young adults and international students
Commitment to prayer and spiritual leadership
Experience & Traits
Warm, hospitable, approachable
Able to disciple, listen, and encourage others
Strong emotional maturity & conflict management
Ability to maintain a Christ-centered home culture
Relational evangelism experience (formal or informal)
Cross-cultural sensitivity and love for internationals
Compensation & Mission Funding
Private studio suite within a detached home (housing included)
Utilities & internet included
Recognition as a missionary of Saltybright Christian Association (optional)
Option to raise ministry support (self-funded missionary model)
Free to work part-time or full-time marketplace or pastoral jobs
No salary — housing provided in exchange for ministry and community leadership
